The COVID-19 pandemic has not only impacted the way we travel and socialise, but also how we keep our vehicles maintained. In the pre-COVID world, servicing your car was as easy as dropping by your preferred service centre and leaving it to the professionals to work their magic. But with the health risks imposed by the pandemic, stricter measures need to be implemented.
At German Auto Haus we have adopted stringent protocols for cleanliness and hygiene and have expanded our service offerings to ensure our customers’ health and safety is assured at all times and at all stages during the servicing process.
Some of the measures we’ve put in place include the following:
We have implemented a comprehensive COVIDSafe Plan to ensure we are operating within the Victorian Government COVIDSafe Guidelines for Victorian small businesses.
We have a QR Code available for scanning at reception and encourage all visitors to scan the code when entering the premises. The QR Code system will help contact tracers identify visitors to our business in the event a positive case of COVID-19 is identified within the Richmond area.
We have prohibited public access to our workshop and have limited the number of customers allowed inside our reception area at any one time. Our mechanics wear face masks and disposable gloves and practice social distancing and we no longer sign for receipt of parts deliveries.
Workshop and Reception Hygiene
We clean all high-traffic areas and high contact points in our workshop, parts room, rest rooms and reception area daily. We also disinfect these areas after each use. Our mechanics use a fresh pair of gloves for each service and wash their hands before and after each job.
Vehicle Hygiene and Sanitation
To ensure both our customers safety and ours, we sanitise every vehicle twice. First when we receive the car, and again prior to handing the car back to the customer. All the main touch points and high contact areas inside the vehicle are sanitised, including the external door handles and car keys.
Servicing Your Vehicle
After being sanitised, the main contact points are protected with plastic covers which remain on for the duration of the service. Once servicing is completed, we remove all protective coverings, wash and vacuum the vehicle and give it a final sanitation prior to returning to the customer. ‘No Contact’ Service
Our in-house ‘No Contact’ service minimises face-to-face interaction is available for customers who wish to bring their car into the workshop. This service includes our complimentary wash, vacuum and vehicle sanitation
Our ‘Concierge’ is available for customers not able to make it in to our workshop. For customers utilising our ‘Concierge’ service we pick up the car from their home or workplace and deliver it back to them after servicing. This service includes our complimentary wash, vacuum and vehicle sanitation.
